Breaking News: Cataclysm is not Wrath!

Ok, this isn't breaking news, but a lot of people like to remind every one in earshot of this fact.

I have created a new drinking game. Every time someone mentions the word "Wrath", in a proper noun sense and contrasting it against current content, you take a swig of your favorite beverage. For us beer drinking types, this is going to make PUG groups more tolerable as the night goes on.

PUG groups in heroics are a mess right now. It's a cesspool of arrogance and impatience. I sincerely advise against any heroic instance running where your group isn't the majority. Otherwise, be prepared to be kicked for any reason. I've seen healers drop after one wipe, DPS get kicked for low output or dying for any reason, regardless of how much it was the healer's fault. And be prepared for everyone to have an opinion, all the while very few of them actually having a clue.

Most PUGs in our groups are DPS since we have a great depth of healers and tanks. A PUG DPS needs to wait in queue right now for upwards of 40 minutes unless they have a healer/tank to tag along with. Any PUG who needs on loot they can't use, or is otherwise just out to troll, boot them and send them to the back of the line. Don't reward this behavior. No one should have to tolerate people who aren't capable of being civil. Also, give it back to them so they are as angry as possible while they wait. Eventually, they might learn to bite their tongue and contribute like a normal human being... Yeah, that's too optimistic.

Leveling in Cataclysm

Here's a handy map of the world after the cracking. The leveling pathway seems much smoother and better planned out.

Guild Bank

Good news everyone! The Federal Government has purchased shares in the guild as part of a restructuring program. This means that the tax payers (meaning: you) will be funding guild flasks for a while. They can be found in the melee and caster tabs of the bank. Please use them on guild progression nights only, and not for questing or 5 man groups.

Cataclysm Raiding - A Tentative Outlook

Here's a quick outlook on what to expect from Elwynn County Sheriff raiding in Cataclysm.

No Raids Scheduled Before Christmas
Rather than ask everyone to push through the content so we can get raids in before Christmas, we will take a more leisurely pace. The first raids will likely not occur until sometime after New Year's Day. Until then, there will be plenty of leveling and heroic content to do as we all gear up.

An Emphasis on the Guild - Guild Leveling
There's information out there about the guild leveling rewards. Here's a quick rundown of why it's important to us.
Level 1 - +5% exp to all members
Level 2 - +5% mounted speed to all members
Level 3 - +5% on reputation gains
Level 4 - +5% money earned deposited in the guild bank
Level 5 - +10% exp to all members
Level 6 - 5% reduction in durability loss on death to all members
Level 7 - 15 minute reduction on hearthstone cooldown
Level 8 - 10% reduction on durability losso n death to all members
Level 9 - 50% increase in duration on all cauldron/feast buffs for members
Level 10 - Mobile Guild Banker - 1 hour cool down for all members.
Level 11 - +10% on reputation gains
Level 13 - +10% chance to get skill up on trade skills
Level 14 - +100% speed increase while dead, +50% health increase on resurrection
Level 15 - +10% money earned deposited in the guild bank
Level 16 - Instantaneous in game mail between guild members
Level 19 - +100% cauldron flask capacity
Level 20 - Guild members can summon group/raid to them, 2 hour cool down
Level 21 - +100% duration to buffs from cauldrons/feasts
Level 22 - +15% increase in materials gained from harvesting tradeskills
Level 23 - 5% reduction in vendor prices for all goods
Level 25 - Mass resurrection

Every single guild member can contribute to guild experience, through questing and dungeon running. All guild members may take advantage of the perks. Guild achievements and experience are awarded in groups where 80% of the group composition belongs to one guild. There is no restriction on who can join us, although we won't be inviting random people out of the blue. Our plan is to get as many perks as possible, so the more the merrier.

The Guild Bank
Bank usage will be primarily for supporting high level characters and raiding activities. There will be one tab set aside for free trading among players, but please keep the clutter to a minimum. Any items that aren't terribly useful will be sold for guild cash. At guild level 15, there will be a 10% bonus to all of the money you make that is given to the guild. Add that with previous guild level perks that reduce durability losses on death, and guild repairs may become possible. This is something we are still investigating, but we may implement it in some form down the road to offset raiding expenses.

Gearing Up
From personal experience, Cataclysm heroics are no joke when it comes to difficulty. From what I saw, the end bosses do not drop epic quality items, only rare blues. It is going to be very important that our core raiding group work on getting geared up prior to beginning our raid schedule to be prepared for what lies ahead.

Dungeon Groups in Cataclysm
Having a tank in group keeps the queue wait down. Luckily, we have 3 tanks to choose from while dungeon crawling. Get in contact with your tanks, Alkaizer, Lancolot, and Mistletoes to see if there are instances being run, and if there is a spot for you.

Vent Info
The vent server has been recently upgraded to 15 slots, so we can run three groups simultaneously. The vent server is free for anyone in the guild to use for any reason, so make use of it.

A Farewell to Northrend

Next week marks the final Icecrown Citadel raids we will be conducting in Wrath, leading up to the Cataclysm launch.

(11/22 - 11/28) - Thanksgiving week. No scheduled raids. Impromptu achievement related content only.
(11/29 - 12/5) - Pre-Cata content, Feat of Strength Raids (Black Temple, etc)

Sheriff's got his eye on you!

Elwynn County Sheriffs raid Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays beginning at 9:pm server time. If you'd like to join us for some casual progression raiding send an in game mail or contact Mistletoes, Alkaizer or Lancolot.
